Remembering 9/11

By Mike Crupi/photo editor

"September 11, 2001: A Global Moment," a 10-year remembrance exhibit of the 9/11 terror attacks, opened Sept. 2 at the Rochester Museum & Science Center. I was lucky enough to walk through the exhibit a few weeks before it opened to the public. It was surreal and sad and humbling, all at the same time, to be in the midst of what are now considered artifacts of that historic day. A piece of metal from the needle of the WTC North Tower, part of the landing gear from American Airlines Flight 11, a firefighter's boot, a crushed police vehicle -- and this tattered flag found in the rubble.
