Blessing pets big and small

Students at St. Agnes School in Avon joined parents, staff and St. Agnes parishioners Oct. 4 for a pet blessing ceremony in the school gymnasium. Also in attendance were animals of all stripes, from dogs and cats to goldfish and rabbits. Father Richard Beligotti navigated the crowded gym, carefully sprinkling holy water on each animal. October 4 marks the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, patron of animals and the environment. (Click here to view more photos from this event and/or buy prints.)
