Nearly 1,000 people attended the final Sunday Mass at Irondequoit's St. Thomas the Apostle Church Nov. 14. In May Bishop Matthew H. Clark accepted a recommendation to consolidate five Irondequoit churches into one parish and to discontinue regularly scheduled Masses at St. Salome and St Thomas the Apostle churches. Basilian Father Norman Tanck, pastor of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha, the newly formed parish that has three Irondequoit worship sites, celebrated the Nov. 14 Mass.
