Father John H. Hayes was presented with Catholic Charities of Livingston County’s 2011 Father William Trott Award at the agency's 16th-anniversary dinner on Sept. 27 at the Genesee River Restaurant & Reception Center, Mount Morris.

The event featured a silent auction, refreshments and a buffet supper. It raised more than $14,000 for Catholic Charities programs.

The Father Trott award is presented to "hometown heroes" who have demonstrated a desire to provide a ministry to the community, dedication to the poor and disenfranchised, and the ability to hear and respond to those with needs. Presenting the award was Joseph Bucci Jr. of Geneseo, who is a member of the agency’s board of directors.

Attendees included Father Hayes’ parishioners from St. Matthew in Livonia and St. Mary’s in Honeoye; relatives, friends and members of several other parishes, and staff members from Catholic Charities of Livingston County.
