Suicide prevention walks slated for Sept. 10, 25

Two "Out of the Darkness" community walks, sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, have been scheduled in the Rochester Diocese.

The first walk will take place Saturday, Sept. 10 -- World Suicide Prevention Day -- at Craig Park in Painted Post beginning at 10 a.m. Another walk is set for Genesee Valley Park in Rochester on Sunday, Sept. 25, at 1 p.m.

These walks are held annually in communities across the United States. Proceeds go toward local and national research and education to prevent suicide and assist those affected by suicide and mental illness.
