What:
The Bowl-A-Thon is an event to raise money for the Catholic Courier/Catholic Charities Christmas Appeal that helps individuals and families in short-term financial crisis. The proceeds raised are allocated to the emergency funds of the various Catholic Charities agencies and their affiliates throughout the 12-county Diocese of Rochester.
When:
February 11, 2012
Two rounds:
3-6pm (good for early birds and families with children)
6:30-9:30pm (good for the night owls)
Team check-in is a half hour before your round begins.

How:
Step One: Register you and your team by calling 585-529-9530 or emailing ttirado@dor.org by February 3. Five-person teams are preferable. Groups of two or three may be paired together to fill in lanes as needed. Space is limited, so reserve your lane today!
Step Two: Get people to sponsor you with per pin pledges (we recommend a nickel per pin) or flat donation pledges. Bowlers must use the pledge sheet to keep track of their pledges and scores. Players are required to donate a minimum of $10 (cash only at the door) in order to play on the day of the event. Three games of bowling (no handicap) and bowling shoes are included.
Step Three: Come Feb. 11 and bowl the best three games of your life! Eat, drink and have fun! There will be a 50/50 raffle and prizes given for highest score, highest series, highest total flat donation pledges raised and highest total per pin pledges raised. A portion of the food and bar sales also benefit the Christmas Appeal. The event is also a great opportunity for groups to set up Christmas Appeal fundraising themselves such as youth group bake sales, etc. with proceeds benefitting the Appeal.
Step Four: Collect pledges and win prizes! All flat donation pledges are due the day of the event. All per pin pledges are due by Friday, February 24, 2012. Make checks payable to Christmas Appeal and mail to the Catholic Courier PO Box 24379 Rochester, NY 14624.
