- Run for the Young is May 7
The Diocese of Rochester's 15th-annual Run for the Young, a 5-kilometer road race and 1-mile "fun walk," will take place Saturday, May 7, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The race begins and ends at St. Lawrence School, 1000 North Greece Road, where it has been held since its inception.

Athletic success was well-dispersed among Catholic high schools in the diocese this past winter. Highlights included Section 5 titles for Bishop Kearney boys' basketball, BK boys' bowling, Our Lady of Mercy girls' indoor track and Aquinas Institute boys' indoor track.

Being the best locally wasn't enough for the Aquinas Institute boys' and girls' basketball teams. Both squads not only captured Section 5 championships, but also reached the state tournament's Final Four -- including a title-game appearance by the AQ girls -- before their memorable 2010-11 seasons ended.
